Dear Walter Carson,

In reading your November 6 letter to the Rogue Valley Historic Seventh-Day Adventist Church, I developed a hurting inside myself for you in seeing how you sought the help from the state and not from God.

A.T. Jones states: "The state was and is, the result of apostasy of men from God," and that "no state can ever rightly require anything that is due to God, and that when it is required by the state, it is not to be rendered" (Christian Patriotism p. 15, 64).

Christ Himself was a 7th-day Adventist, and being His disciples, He gave us that name. (John 17:12)

"There is one lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?" (James 4:12)

"Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. (James 5:19-20)

"Here are the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of YAH, and the faith of YAHSHUA."

A servant in Christ,

Rachel R. Martin
