Dear Walter Carson,

I received your letter yesterday which was dated 1/10/97. Thank you for your quick response.

I have a question concerning your letter. You said, "While I think I understand your position, nevertheless I intend to take such steps as are necessary to prevent the unauthorized use of the name 'Seventh-day Adventist.'" Do you mean that you understand the points I was wanting to get across to you, but are going to ignore them and go against what you know is right? I would certainly hope this is not the case. (I'm sure that we both know the eternal fate of all who take that route.)

Or did you mean that you think you understand where I am coming from with my point of view, but you disagree with it? Do you disagree with what Jesus told his disciples in Luke 9 concerning others using His name that were not part of His group - and do you disagree with the cause of religious liberty?

Or did you mean something else altogether?

Please explain so that I will not have this question in my mind and be tempted to think something that may not be true. Thank you ahead of time for your response.

Prayerfully yours,

Barbara McGill
