Introduction

It is written in the Holy Scriptures that “the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18) And again it is said that teachers, evangelists and prophets are given, and the work of the ministry continues, “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13) As all Reformers in general, and all Adventists in particular know, light is progressive. At the same time we know from the Scriptures that the 144,000, the Remnant of Israel that will be preserved, will be “without fault before the Throne of Yah.” (Revelation 14:5b) As the last message of mercy continues to go forth to the world, the teaching becomes more direct, more able to convict the soul of sin, and to lead to that Godly sorrow which the last generation needs, “for Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of.” (2Cor 7:10a)

The message of the CSDA Church so far has been effective in getting people, for example, to see from the Scripture that a surrendered life is possible, expected from, and offered to all who believe. Many have received the testimony of messengers living without known sin, and have received it joyfully; yet they find it difficult to believe for themselves. For this reason, I was recently inspired to write the Whirlwind and Scepter article, about grasping that victorious life for one’s self, and bringing forth the testimony of Christ in one’s own experience.

Similarly, the 4th Angel’s message born by the Church has been effective in getting people to see the corruption that exists within the former (Adventist) body. Many have received our testimony: we are not calling people to come out of the Adventist Church, but an organization that joins itself to the world is no longer a Church of any kind (much less the Church of Christ), and we are in fact calling people TO the Church, rather than from it. We are able to easily demonstrate the wrongs committed in the name of the Messiah, and to this people freely admit, yet some, seeking to justify remaining where it is comfortable, declare that the “shaking” spoken of in the writings of Adventism will take place within an already fallen organization.

There is a shaking, but it takes place within the Church; not within a once and former Body of Christ, which made of itself just another image to the Beast. As Whirlwind and Scepter was about accepting the victory for one’s self, so this article seeks to drive home the manner in which Heaven truly views the apostasy of the General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists. Whereas there are several groups and individuals that have left membership within the Conference, their reasons for doing so have often been questionable, and many times based upon personal offenses treasured up in the heart or faultfinding. While their decision to leave may have been right, their motives for doing so have not been.

Unless one sees the Trademark issue in its true light (as set forth in the article The Mark and The Seal), leaving the General Conference has no merit. Those who leave Adventism for petty reasons, often giving up the name “Adventist,” and never continuing to grasp the light which increases unto the end, they are as wolves gnawing off their own legs to escape a hunter’s trap.

Those who attempt to maintain their position within the ranks of the Adventist denomination based upon Ellen White’s statements that “the church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall” would benefit from reading the setting (historical as well as textual) in which those lines were penned. Rather than declaring that the Conference’s Organization would never fall, she was speaking of the true Church, one that is free of any unions with the state government, and in fact she consistently condemned such actions wholesale. Just as Israel in the time of Christ took pride in having Abraham to their father, imagining that the favor of Yahweh would rest on even a hardhearted and rebellious people forever, so do Conference Adventists in these last days look to the former glory their denomination held, as heralds of the Three Angels’ message, and close their eyes in fatal complacency to the abomination of desolation which has crept into their religion.

This article will remove that cloke from the sins of the Conference, and expose it to light. “And Yahweh answered me, and said, ‘Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.’” (Habakkuk 2:2-4)

May Yahweh grant that the reader understand, and may he run to the fellowship and the cloud of witnesses awaiting, for this is the time of the end, and Yah forbid that our souls be lifted up with pride in this great day!

The Rebuke

In the day of Christ’s visit to Jerusalem, there was an established religion claiming to have the truth. Indeed it did, “because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.” (Romans 3:2b) Nevertheless, because of the political ties it had to pagan Rome, and because of the irreversible union it was about to make with Caesar concerning the crucifixion of the Messiah and the rejection of His message, it was “fast becoming a people unchurched,” as our own writers have said. [S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 5, page 1109] Although its teachings were relatively accurate in terms of Scriptural truth, by its actions it denied Heaven, and was no longer an organization unto which the Spirit could lead people. For this cause, Christ bid His followers to heed the teachings of the Pharisees, but not to do as they did (Matthew 23:3), and the early Church advised Gentile converts to learn of their spiritual roots in the Synagogues, but to hold membership with the true Church called forth from them by the Messiah (Acts 15:21, 2:42), so modern Adventism is maintaining a “form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof.” “From such,” counsels the Scripture, “turn away.” (2Timothy 3:5)

As the Savior stood on the steps of the Temple and beheld the Pharisees misrepresenting the character of His Father by their actions, even while being considered the “holy ones” of Israel, the Spirit seized Him, and with tears in His eyes, and deep, powerful emotion, He spoke unto them some of the most forceful words ever used in His ministry:

“But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.” (Mat 23:13)

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.” (Mat 23:14)

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.” (Mat 23:15)

The General Conference of Adventism is guilty of all these and more. By joining to the U.S. Government, which they themselves declare to be the 2nd Beast of Revelation, they shut the door of salvation to those who would be members. Indeed, we are saved as individuals; indeed, we are not saved by our fellowship among a particular people, yet our fellowship with a people represents the state of our faith! Why do Adventists call believers out of Catholicism, out of the Baptist faith, the Pentecostal churches, Presbyterianism, out of the Anglican fellowships, out of inter-denominational gatherings? But they themselves believe that fellowship within their OWN fallen body, which is guilty of worse than many of these, is acceptable before the Throne of the Holy One? They are worse, for they reject the greater light. Well has it been said of them by the Savior, “Blind guides!” (verse 16)

By taking brothers to court, our own prophetess has said, “The world and unconverted church members are in sympathy. Some when God reproves them for wanting their own way, make the world their confidence, and bring church matters before the world for decision. Then there is collision and strife, and Christ is crucified afresh, and put to open shame. Those church members who appeal to the courts of the world show that they have chosen the world as their judge, and their names are registered in heaven as one with unbelievers.” [Selected Messages Book 3, page 302]

Those who would accept this Trademark as a legitimate means for protecting a Church repudiate the very principle of the Sabbath, which points to rest in, and protection by, the Son who gave His blood to ransom us from the world. Truly, they have “crucified afresh” the Son of God. But her rebuke here is only against “members.” What of a Church whose leaders have done it and, in their own words, on behalf of all the denomination’s members? Again it is written in the Scriptures – although only the leaders of the Jewish nation crucified Christ, Peter said to the devout members in the fallen body, “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:36,38)

I have many friends who are yet members of the Conference’s Body. I care for them dearly, and they for me. Nevertheless, there will come a day when emotional connections mean little, for Yah cannot hold him guiltless who persecutes His faithful followers through their policy and actions. Their names are “registered in heaven as one with unbelievers,” and when the Spirit is withdrawn from the earth, they will receive an evil wind, where they expected the Latter Rain. (Jeremiah 3:3)

At the end of His rebuke of the religious leaders in His day, who were about to fall by joining to the world and rejecting Him, the Messiah delivered one final, stirring warning:

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous, and say, ‘If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.”

“Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers!”

“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.” (Matthew 23:29-36)

No words in the written language can properly express the emotions involved in that statement. Until one has heard it with his ears, spoken with true and holy passion, can the difference between the Spirit of the Savior and the spirit of the hypocrites He was addressing be gleaned. The Pharisees honored the tombs of the prophets, and declared that they would have accepted their words, had they been alive. They said that they would not have persecuted those who were sent by God. But what were they about to do? They proceeded to slay the Prince of Life, and to put to death or lonely exile His messengers. Because they said those words, and proceeded to do just as they declared they would not, the blood of not only the apostles and disciples came upon them, but the blood of the prophets as well!

How much more fearful is that warning in this day? Those who claim to hear from the Spirit, yet reject the messengers sent by Heaven are guilty of the blood of all the slain: From righteous Abel to Zechariah, and beyond. They are guilty of the blood of Christ, whom they “crucify afresh.” They are guilty of those slain by the Catholic Church, for they declare that THEY would not have persecuted others in the name of Christ, yet they do it today, with their worldly policy. They are guilty of the freedom taken from early Adventists in the 1800s, who were persecuted by Sundaykeeping Protestants in the United States under the Blue Laws, because they say that THEY would never enforce religious doctrine by resorting to civil power. They, even to the least member, are guilty of the stolen freedom and abuse borne by individuals such as John Marik and Rafael Perez since the Conference began to sue men professing faith in Christ, under the U.S. Trademark Law.

Again their own writings declare to those who would follow corrupt leaders, believing that the sin which caused Judaism to fall will not have the same effect on their own communion, “There will be in the office men who will lead into strange paths those whose minds are not firmly established in the principles of present truth. These unconsecrated men will set up false waymarks, and will walk in false paths, because they lack clear discernment. They will manifest a burning desire to confederate; to form rings among themselves in order to sustain one another in the wrong principles they advocate. They will voice one another’s words.” [Manuscript Releases Volume Nineteen, page 260]

And what of the members’ roles and accountability regarding those who “will use their influence to repress religious liberty?” “The people of God are not to vote to place such men in office; for when they do this, they are partakers with them of the sins which they commit while in office.” [Fundamentals of Christian Education, page 475] While the context here is for those who would bring in a Sunday Law (a specific instance of this Satanic spirit), we understand from the Bible and other quotations from Mrs. White (such as the one below) that this principle is an eternal one, and applies to ANY who would seek to control religious liberty by civil means, and also those who follow the ones utilizing such means!

“But in the very act of enforcing a religious duty by secular power, the churches would themselves form an image to the beast; hence the enforcement of Sundaykeeping in the United States would be an enforcement of the worship of the beast and his image.” [The Great Controversy, page 488] The very act, it is declared, forms an image to the beast. The enforcement of Sundaykeeping anticipated in Adventist circles would be only “an” enforcement of this much bigger principle. The worship of the beast and his image is too plain to miss: It is simply rejecting the way of Heaven, and turning to the ways of the kingdoms of this world, in order to establish one’s own righteousness. “Force is the last resort of every false religion.” [S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7, page 976]

“Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers!” declares the Resurrected Prince of Life to these wicked men. “Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers!” declares the Holder of the Seven Stars, to those who believe that their membership under these evil guides is of no consequence.

If they show the same spirit of those who, claiming faith, persecuted believers in the name of Christ, so shall their reward be the same. Every worker in the field of righteousness receives “a penny,” (Matthew 20:10) and every worker in the field of iniquity will reap the due results of sin. (Romans 6:23) Truly, we are not judged for the sins of others, but if we repeat the sins of those who have been rebuked before, we receive their penalty as well. (Matthew 23:34,35) The blood of every martyr will be on their heads, and much more so than on the Jewish nation, which rejected less light. “Then answered all the people, and said, ‘His blood be on us, and on our children.’” (Mat 27:25) By Yahweh’s name I caution those who read: Do not be the spiritual children of this faithless nation! Theirs is a cumulative guilt, and it would be better for those who will receive it if they had never been born.

The Scripture declares, “the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Therefore Adonai (the Lord) shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.” (Isaiah 9:16,17) Will it be concluded that those who bear this message hate those in the Conference? It will be concluded thus by many, yet Christ did not hate those rebellious ones upon whom He declared those seven woes. Isaiah did not hate the ones unto whom he gave this sober warning. Adventists do not hate Sundaykeepers whom they teach concerning the commandments of God. Yet in all these cases, there must be a direct testimony, or they will surely die in their sins. As Paul said of the individuals still within fallen Israel, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” (Romans 10:1-3)

So does the Creation Seventh Day Adventist Church bear the SDA General Conference Organization record that their zeal is not according to righteousness. They rejoice in thousands of converts a year, yet each is only “twofold the child of hell” that they themselves are. They, being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and His absolute hatred for church/state unions which seek to control the conscience of others in His own name, have gone about to establish their own righteousness with their unholy policy, and truly, truly is it said of them, they “have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” Rather than condemning the individuals, we rightly bear witness against the corporation, and say to the devout within it, “Save yourselves from this untoward generation!” (Acts 2:40)

The Warning

As I have said, there are many who are my friends among the Conference fellowships. Even so, with every dollar they give to that evil organization, they pay for the lawyers that will throw my fellow believers and myself in prison – and possibly worse – when the appointed time arrives. With every dime, they facilitate those who rob the Temple of God to pay for horses from Egypt. (Isaiah 31:1) With their membership on the rolls of the fallen structure, they declare with silent assent that they endorse their vile policies, for so have their own writings plainly stated it. The Word of God declares: they actively finance the persecution that will come upon the messengers. Even while declaring love, do their actions not show that they will hate us? Although the widow was commended for paying two mites to the cause which she loved (Luke 21:2-4), had she done so with the knowledge of what that organization was about to do, how could she have received a blessing for her act? Rather, those who are in ignorance are not yet accountable; but those who have read this article and others that contain the truth of the Conference’s actions, they have “no cloke for their sin.” (John 15:22)

What do we say, then, to those who are members of what was once a Church? The promises once given to Adventism (and any Protestant church that has ceased to walk in the light which “shineth more and more unto the perfect day”) have passed surely on to the true body of Adventists who believe and teach what Christ, the Apostles, and our pioneers did. We are they who live that surrendered life that the Conference no longer teaches is possible, and cannot obtain because of its leaders’ ungodly policies. We justly declare that any Church which has united with a state has formed an image to the Beast; and with those who would be saved we show with tears that their leaders and complacent brethren are listed with the “unbelievers” and plead, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, ‘I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate,’ saith Yahweh, ‘and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,’ saith Yahweh Almighty.” (2Corinthians 6:14-18)

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is: that they might be saved.” (Romans 10:1)
